About us
The Lambda Letters Foundation is currently undertaking a number of efforts to strengthen our organizational capacity. This includes implementing specific strategies to identify new funding sources. We hired a professional staff person (a development director) and are preparing strategic fundraising and financial diversification plans. With the new resources that we hope to generate through this work, we expect to double the size of our volunteer base and membership and expand our educational reach.
We are developing a series of educational projects and activities to help communities understand the reality and impact of the lives behind the letters. The tasks we are planning in this regard center on increasing our visibility across the state as we work collaboratively with our strategic partners to achieve the following goals:
GOAL 1: Reinforcing the importance of the voices behind constituency contact letters by conducting five to seven annual educational forums and organizing meetings around the state of California that focus on particular crucial legislative topics, including:
GOAL 2: Expanding the reach and impact of our Lambda Letters Legislative Scorecard to educate the public about what elected officials are doing on specific issues, and exploring ways to utilize this educational tool to build our network of members and allies.
GOAL 3: Creating a series of booklets and pamphlets (printed and electronic) that demonstrate how important is it to continue having constituent voices heard as policies are implemented in accordance with the intention of the laws.
